We are coming together to support St Leonard’s Hospice, a charity that has become incredibly close to our hearts after a member of our own ‘Caboodle family’ recently experienced their care first hand.
We love getting stuck into a challenge - especially when it’s for a good cause!
Why This Charity?
The truth is, hospice care isn’t something most of us think about… until we have to.
When someone you love is facing the end of their life, you suddenly realise how much it matters - not just medically, but emotionally too. The NHS does incredible work, but hospices provide something different. They focus on comfort, dignity and quality of life when time is precious.
St Leonard's Hospice is a charity that has become incredibly close to our hearts after a member of our own ‘Caboodle family’ recently experienced their care first hand. Seeing the compassion and dignity they provided to our colleague's family member has inspired us to give back.
It’s not just about managing symptoms. It’s about creating a calm, supportive environment. It’s about giving families space to sit together, to talk, to reflect - and sometimes just to be quiet. It’s about making unimaginably hard moments a little more bearable.
That’s why we knew this was the right choice.
About St Leonard’s Hospice
Based in York, St Leonard’s Hospice supports people across York and North Yorkshire who are living with life-limiting illnesses.
They provide specialist palliative and end-of-life care through their in-patient unit, Hospice@Home services and wider community support. They also offer bereavement care and support for families and carers - because the impact of serious illness doesn’t stop with the patient.
And incredibly, their services are provided free of charge.
What many people don’t realise is that hospices like St Leonard’s rely heavily on donations and fundraising to continue their work. Only a small proportion of their funding comes from statutory sources.
What We’re Doing
So this year, we’re going all in.
Throughout 2026, The Whole Caboodle will be coming together and taking on a full calendar of fundraising activities - and there will no doubt be some challenges, some laughs, and probably a few sore legs along the way - and we'd love you to join us in supporting this amazing charity.
We’re doing it because this care matters. It matters to families. It matters to our community. And it matters to us.
