A Day in the Life of a Digital Project Manager at The Whole Caboodle

9:00 AM

My day kicks off the moment I walk through the door and get greeted by the best colleagues ever—our office dogs! 

As a digital project manager at The Whole Caboodle, my main job is making sure all the gears are turning smoothly. It’s a fine balance of managing client expectations, keeping timelines in check, and ensuring seamless communication between clients and our team of developers in India, where they work their magic. Whether we’re building a brand-new website or refining an existing one, my day starts with a quick status check on any outstanding task I have and sifting through emails. 

I start by making sure there are no glaring issues, testing a few pages myself to ensure everything is running smoothly. And if there’s a problem (because, let’s be honest, the internet loves to throw curveballs), I jump on it right away to get things back on track as quickly as possible.

One of the biggest parts of my role is taking a client’s vision and briefing it into something the design and development teams can work with. No two days are ever the same—one day I might focus on an email campaign, the next I'm working on building pages or fine-tuning a site’s SEO to boost performance - we do it all!


1:00PM

After a busy morning, it’s finally time for a breather. Lunch usually involves a quick stroll to Asda for the classic meal deal (a project manager’s fuel), followed by some much-needed office gossip. Who’s binge-watching what on Netflix? What biscuits are currently topping the office rankings? And, most importantly, what are we planning for the Christmas Caboodle party? 


2:00PM

Back to business! Building and maintaining strong client relationships is more than just a part of my job—it’s the backbone of everything we do. Regular client meetings are key, whether it’s a quick call to update them on the progress of their new site or diving into problem-solving mode when something isn’t quite right. These meetings aren’t just about ticking boxes; they’re about ensuring clients feel heard, valued, and confident that we’re always working towards the best possible outcome for their business.

5:30PM

As the day winds down, I focus on tying up any loose ends and prepping for the next day. In a role where multiple projects and clients are constantly in motion, staying organised and one step ahead is essential. Once the final tasks are ticked off, it’s time to close the laptop. 

Every day is different, but one thing stays the same – the dedication of our team. With a great group of colleagues (and a few friendly dogs), we’re always ready to deliver the best for our clients.
