Last week on Friday the 25th of September, everyone at the Whole Caboodle got together to take part in the world’s biggest coffee morning. Overall, we managed to raise a total of £100.79p! Everyone here chipped in by either putting their baking skills to the ultimate test or by donating money all contributing towards an excellent cause.
The morning started at 10:30am, and it proved to be a huge success thanks to everyone’s efforts. Loads of baked goods were made and everybody indulged in fudge cake, flapjacks, biscuits and buns until they were completely caked out! If fact, so many treats were made we had to give some to Adam which he then took to be sold at his friends coffee morning the very next day.Even the dogs enjoyed the morning, and they were up to their usual tricks pulling their puppy faces at everyone in hope that someone would give them a bit of cake!
Cancer will on average effect 1 in 3 people in their lifetime, and by 2030 around 4 million people in the UK will be living with cancer, which is why it’s crucial that charities like Macmillan raise awareness and help families who end up suffering because of cancer. The money raised will help make sure that no one faces cancer alone, right from diagnosis through to the recovery period. The money raised will help Macmillan carry out their work, which includes emotional, medical, practical and financial support. The world’s biggest coffee morning is Macmillan’s largest fundraising event and so far to date they have raised nearly £3 million. You too can make a difference to support the lives of cancer sufferers by making a donation, you can do so by simply clicking this link here – http://coffee.macmillan.org.uk/.
